New to fudge? Start with our introduction to what fudge is, then use this guide to compare flavors.
Chocolate or something fruity? Smooth fudge or a piece with a little crunch? Choosing fudge flavors gets easier when you start with the desserts you already enjoy.
At The Fudge Pub in Oceanside, our lineup includes familiar chocolate combinations, buttery brown-sugar flavors and a few surprises. The selection changes, with regular favorites alongside rotating flavors.
Here’s a guide to the differences, so you can choose a flavor because it sounds good to you—not just because it was first on the list.
Start with the kind of sweet you usually choose
- Chocolate: begin with Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl or Dark Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt.
- Buttery and nutty: look at Butter Pecan, Penuche Brown Sugar or Toffee.
- Cookies and cake: try Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake or Carrot Cake.
- Fruit and coconut: check the current selection for rotating options.
These are flavor groupings, not dietary categories. If you’re choosing for someone with an allergy, contact us about the specific flavors before ordering.
Chocolate fudge: simple, swirled or full of texture?
Chocolate Fudge is the straightforward starting point: creamy texture and chocolate flavor without a lineup of mix-ins. It is a useful choice when you want the chocolate itself to be the focus.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl brings peanut butter into that combination. Mint Chocolate Swirl goes in a different direction, with a cool mint flavor alongside the chocolate. If you usually choose sweet-and-salty desserts, Dark Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt combines bold chocolate, buttery caramel and a touch of salt.
For more texture, compare Rocky Road with S’mores. Both bring chocolate and marshmallow together. Rocky Road adds walnuts; S’mores adds graham cracker pieces. That difference is a better way to choose between them than asking which one is “best.”
Brown sugar, toffee and pecan flavors
Chocolate doesn’t have to be the starting point. Our Penuche Brown Sugar Fudge has an old-fashioned, caramel-like flavor and a creamy, buttery texture. Choose it when brown sugar is the flavor that catches your attention.
Toffee Fudge focuses on buttery toffee flavor in a soft fudge. Butter Pecan puts crunchy pecans into a smooth base. They belong in a similar part of the flavor lineup, but the texture gives you another way to decide: smooth toffee flavor or pieces of pecan?
Chewy Pecan Praline Fudge is another option, with a chewy praline center, vanilla fudge and caramel ribbons. If you’re looking for the candy itself, our Pecan Pralines are a separate product with a soft, cookie-like bite.
Fudge inspired by cookies, cake and coffee desserts
Cookies & Cream pairs vanilla fudge with chocolate cookie crumbles. Birthday Cake brings cake-batter flavor and colorful sprinkles. Both borrow from familiar desserts, with a different flavor and texture in each.
Carrot Cake Fudge takes the spiced route, combining warm spice, coconut and walnuts. Tiramisu brings coffee fudge, cocoa and crunchy vanilla wafers together. If coffee is usually your first choice on a dessert menu, that is a good reason to start there.

Choosing a few flavors together
One approach is to choose a familiar favorite, then add a different texture or flavor. Chocolate and Rocky Road give you a smooth-and-crunchy comparison. Tiramisu and Mint Chocolate Swirl are a bigger contrast. If you already know you love one flavor, repeating it is a perfectly reasonable strategy too.
For a gift, start with what the recipient actually enjoys. A coffee fan might appreciate Tiramisu; someone who loves chocolate and peanut butter has an obvious place to begin. Check their preferences before adding nuts or an adventurous flavor.
